Long-term Care and the Sandwich Generation

Long term care may be the 800 pound gorilla within the living room. I hear about it in the line at the supermarket, in the elevator, in the department store, at church as well as on videos. Everyone my age is facing it, and it isn't ours we are facing, today.

I am of the age bracket known as the boomer or sandwich generation. Sandwich meaning we have responsibilities for multiple members of the family. However, we are not the first one to be faced with this phenomenon, when you are boomers, we are probably the first to attach a reputation for this huge predicament.

Boomers have altered the paradigms with which we address dilemmas in lots of arenas and I think we will rewrite our understanding about this one.

Our wonderful healthcare system, good food and many modern conveniences have led to an existence expectancy that is more than ever.
