The 4 Hour Body is the second book by Tim Ferriss. First one, 4 Hour Workweek was already a bestseller, and inspired by Tim’s out of the box thinking. Although magic formulas described in 4HWW didn’t seem to be applicable for the most of us, 4HB contains much more ideas for regular people (and not superhumans only) . 4HB covers a broad variety of topics related to health and fitness, covered in forms of blog entries. The chapters are not intended to be read as a book, but more as a reference work. The chapter about weight loss mentions three elements which can be applied separately or combined together: workout / exercise nutrition and supplements. The most effective and efficient is a combination of these three. Tim suggests that use of e.g. drugs only can have bad effects for health, he encourages readers to choose a mix fitting ones unique lifestyle. In “The 4 Hour Body” Tim Ferriss suggests that these 4 supplements are the key to a sustained fat loss and have synergistic effect when applied together: Policosanol: 20-25 mg Alpha-lipoic acid: 100-300 mg Green tea flavanols: 325 mg (decaffeinated) Garlic extract The abbreviation PAGG comes from first characters of the names of the supplements. Supplements seem to be the favourite Jeopardy! category of Tim, as he previously run a company called Brainquicken selling supplements enhancing neural capabilities. He tried (at least he claims to have done it) all the supplements on himself, measure the results and pick the best ones for us. Tim also recommends the following supplements: Cissus quandrangularis – to limit weight gain on cheat days and Athletic greens – to cover nutritional needs. In the following posts I’ll go into details of the dietary suggestions, recipes and supplements for the 4HB. This blog is not in any way connected with Tim Ferriss and his 4HB, so expect objective review.&lt;/div&gt;</description>
