If you text him first how will you know if he's really enthusiastic about you or if he really likes you or not? You will not. You may think you can measure if he likes you or not by his response, but that is not reliable at all. Guys will text with you and banter with you merely to keep you on the right back burner. It doesn't mean they like you or are into you. Some guys are just polite and therefore are likely to answer you back.

Think back again to how it feels when a guy calls or texts or asks you out first. A guy you want at that. You obtain elated, you receive excited and your adrenaline starts flowing. You call up your girlfriends and inform them. In the event that you text him first, you deprive yourself of all of these good feelings. Can you contact your girlfriends all excited since you texted him first? I doubt it. The elation just isn't there. It's you wanting to control the results of the situation.
