New page

During the Spring, Summer and Fall months, mosquito's often infiltrate the yard. It doesn't matter what you do, it seems one cannot remove these pesky little annoyances! From spraying disgusting repellents, to piling on layers of garments, they seem to find their strategies by somewhere to begin probing.

[http://www.howtorepelmosquitoes.com Repel] - I'm not sure about you, but of these months, I'd prefer to be outside doing something than think that I am stuck inside. Mosquito's put a serious damper in my outdoor activities. Mostly because, I am seriously allergic with their bites. One bite will often swell up towards the size of the golf ball!

We have tried several repellents and plants which can be recognized to deter mosquito's from coming around as i am outside. I seems, though, that none of them act as well as I long for them to. Below are a few products or plants which are known to [http://www.howtorepelmosquitoes.com Repel] mosquito's...

Mosquito repellent with Deet: In my experience, these sprays work to a degree. Only continue for a short time of energy. As well as the fact that Deet effects included rashes, skin or mucous membrane irritation, transient numb or burning lips, dizziness, disorientation, and difficulty concentrating. Also, most of the time these sprays don't smell exceptional, and it just is annoying to have to re-apply the spray again and again. Just may seem like it's not very economical, right?

Citronella Candles: These candles recieve treatment to some extent. Some also find the smell of Citronella offensive. When burning these candles though, bed not the culprit it likely to work once the wind is flying off from your outdoor activities? Rather pointless if you ask me....

Marigolds: Did you know that most insects cannot stand the give an impression of these flowers? Including mosquito's! Marigolds aren't the most beautiful flower on the planet and come in a limited number of colors. However the smell is repulsive to mosquito's, aphids and several other pesky insects. They actually do an excellent job of keeping the offending articles. I plant them randomly in my veggie garden to keep the aphids away. I also have experienced them planted on my small porch to try to keep mosquito's away. Nevertheless it just doesn't manage to do the trick completely.

Avon Skin So Soft: This oil, produced by Avon, has got rave reviews to keep away mosquito's and flies. I've also tried this product, and it works about plus the sprays that contain Deet. Even horse breeders use it on their horses to help keep flies away. The smell isn't repulsive and it really does work pretty well. But, because it is oil based, it can make the skin really feel greasy. A small price to pay? Well maybe...however i just want to benefit from the outdoors without lathering myself track of items like this.

Catnip: Here is the items that cats goes crazy over....literally! But mosquito's hate it. They cannot stand it, in fact, it is stated that catnip is ten times far better than Deet. However it seems to me, that whether you have the plant, or just a random bowl of it just lounging around...is every cat within the neighborhood or beyond going to come meowing at your door? Unsure if I desire to risk that....

[http://www.howtorepelmosquitoes.com Mosquito] Traps: Now mosquito traps, I feel, may be the way to go. Some can be better than others. Some, are more Eco friendly than these. As an example, some traps need the use of propane. I truly do not believe remains safe and secure. Propane is very flammable. Have one of these simple traps close to a camp fire? That would not safe. Or, the smell of propane...not pleasant. Also releasing toxic fumes to the environment will not seem all that safe either. Some traps, however don't require propane. Some, have the optional use of Co2, which is completely safe for your environment.

So, all of these products or plants, all get their own value. They also have their disadvantages, like most things do. But maybe, just maybe, using Mosquito traps in conjunction with a couple of these plants would do just fine greatly! I myself use a trap sitting on my front porch at this time. I use it there without plants, and ultizing not one other products. I can sit on my front porch and have minimal problems with mosquito's. It draws them in, and kills them, keeping the offending articles from me forever. And keeping me safe from the diseases that mosquito's carry.
